❋
Things to Consider….
Health Information
Newfoundlands and Corsos are both incredibly large dogs and should undergo specific tests before breeding. Although not all dogs will have excellent scores, we test and pair accordingly and do not breed dogs with bad hips and elbows. Queen Bee Kennel is dedicated to producing exceptional pups. Results upon request.
OFA
All dogs will be OFA elbow-tested prior to breeding. Dogs are paired based on scores. Cardiac and patella evaluations are also included.
Embark
Parents are Embark tested and cleared prior to breeding to help minimize genetic issues.
PennHIP
We prefer PennHIP for hips because it provides measurements and assesses tightness and OA. All dogs are tested prior to breeding.
ENS: Early Neurological Stimulation
ENS is a new stimulation we are doing in the first few weeks of age to desensitize pups to sensory issues. I.e., clipping nails, baths, and ear cleanings.

Puppy Packages:
When you receive your Corso puppy at 8 weeks, your new AKC certified family member will come with ears cropped (unless specified), back declaws removed, de-wormed, one vet check-up, registration papers, and one round of vaccines. Queen Bee Kennel also sends a puppy package to get you started!
Newfoundland puppies will arrive with the same puppy package along with vaccines, vet check-up, and de-wormed.
During their 8-week beginning here at the hive, all puppies, Newfoundlands, and Corsos will be raised on a half-raw and half-kibble diet. They will also receive dyne and nutrition supplements. We do light crate training, but our focus is letting them run and develop, and we have the space for it! We understand that puppies who come from crate training make family life easier; however, more importantly, they get to run and play once they are old enough. The first 8 weeks of a puppy's life are equivalent to the growth of a baby. Nutrition and development are key.
Training
If you would like your puppy working on basic commands prior to receiving please let us know. Our Corso Mimosa was trained by and excellent bomb dog trainer and we would be glad to add this to the package for the training fee. Potty training is not something we offer at this time.
Additional Information
-
Queen Bee Kennel is located in Savannah, GA, on a quarter-acre of land. We have three large fenced areas for run and play on the turf, separation if puppies are brought back, and individual soothing time. We have also converted our garage into a full-time breeding facility with whelping boxes, a medical area, and bathing.
-
As mentioned throughout, our emphasis is on health and temperament. We prioritize making sure the puppies run and play versus being crated. Queen Bee Kennels uses non-chicken, non-chicken by-product dog food along with a raw mix. We are all hands on deck here, and we work as a team to expose puppies to different things early. We do not allow other dogs in the facility to lower the risk of disease. The puppies go on supervised wagon rides and trips from time to time, and we invite others over so they get used to meeting people. We only pair well-tempered dogs. Puppies are exposed to other breeds (dogs who live in the home), animals, children, and sounds early on.
-
Queen Bee Kennel promises to take back any puppies born at our facility. We do not refund for the puppy returning unless there are stated and discussed health issues, but we will place them in new homes to avoid shelters. They are our babies for life.
